DOES GEAR REALLY MATTER? WHO CARES?

The question gets asked a lot. but does gear really matter.

Over the last 6 years i have learned that in some situations gear does matter.

however gear doesn't always matter.

for example  If you’re shooting street photography, car photography, portrait photography then gear doesn’t matter. It can help but mostly you rely on the story to progress your photo.

However any photography can be improved with gear and help you get from point A and point B quicker.

Gear is suppose to help you progress the story or tell your story in an easier away. It’s suppose to expedite the process. When you’re on a budget it can take longer or be more difficult to get to the final image but the final result is still possible.

Gear is a tool it helps you but it doesn’t control you, don’t obsess over weather or not gear matters. Worry about how to tell the story and always focus on framing and the composition then worry about the gear later on when you’ve saved or in a different position to be able to buy what you need or want.
