Tony Northrup previews the upcoming Canon R1, a full-frame mirrorless sports and wildlife camera capable of 20 FPS (when shooting in 86 megapixel mode) or 40 FPS (when shooting in 21 megapixel mode). It has two major advancements: A global shutter that eliminates both flicker from LED lights and rolling shutter. it also has a quad bayer sensor, which is common in smartphones but hasn't previously been used in an interchangeable lens camera.
