It’s a new year and a new set of adventures. This week I head off to Stevens Pass – which is a main thoroughfare between Everett and Wenatchee and one of two primary highways through the cascade mountains of Washington State open through the winter. For this trip, I am snowshoeing to Skyline Lake, which is about 1 ½ miles from the parking lot and a gain of 1,200 feet to the ridge. While this is a steep ascent, it does offer a lovely winter location with some solace of the backcountry. While out today, I shot some compositions at the lake itself, as well as from the access trail and ridge overlooking the peaks to the Northeast of Stevens Pass.
